PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- The most watched Senate race in the nation will take center stage at the 205th Annual Meeting of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, when two-term U.S. Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) and his expected Democratic challenger, Pennsylvania Treasurer Robert Casey, address the Greater Philadelphia business community. The two candidates, who could go head-to-head in the November 2006 Senatorial election, will make separate appearances during the Annual Meeting, which will be held on Friday, October 14, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Pennsylvania Convention Center in downtown Philadelphia.

"All eyes are on Pennsylvania's 2006 U.S. Senate race, which holds great implications for our country, our Commonwealth, and for us here in the Greater Philadelphia region," said Mark S. Mr. Santorum and Mr. Casey are the special guests at an Annual Meeting which will also celebrate the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce's accomplishments over the last year, while the 205-year-old organization sets its agenda for the upcoming year.

Stephen D. Steinour, Chairman and CEO of Citizens Bank of Pennsylvania, enters the final year of his two-year term as GPCC Chairman. During his tenure as Chair, Steinour has guided the Chamber's agenda to advocate for lower business taxes in Philadelphia, expansion at the Philadelphia International Airport and the Pennsylvania Convention Center, and preserving medical malpractice reforms in Pennsylvania.

Mr. Steinour will introduce the GPCC Chairman-elect, Joseph A. Frick, President and CEO of Independence Blue Cross, who will succeed Mr. Steinour as Chair in 2006-2007. New members of the GPCC Board will also be announced.
